Internal Python model for hour-by-hour optimisation of hybrid renewable plants with batteries in the Iberian power market.

Sequence

Internal Python model for hour-by-hour optimisation of hybrid renewable plants with batteries in the Iberian power market.

What it does

Sequence takes hourly price curves, production profiles, and technical and economic asset parameters as inputs. It then calculates, for each hour, how much energy is exported, how much the battery charges or discharges, and how much energy is curtailed.

It takes into account:

  • shared grid connection limits across technologies
  • yearly price curves and production profiles
  • entry and exit windows by technology and COD
  • grid charging, fees, minimum spreads, and degradation
  • central and conservative cases, fee and no-fee cases, with and without grid charging

What it is used for

  • comparing battery sizes and hybrid layouts
  • measuring the impact of fees, grid charging, and connection limits
  • estimating revenues and capture prices by technology and period
  • preparing valuation cases and financing materials

Outputs

  • Hourly dispatch results by year
  • Annual summaries and scenario comparison tables
  • Monthly, quarterly, and annual revenue workbooks
  • Traceable Markdown and spreadsheet outputs for investment and financing work

Status

Internal tool in active use for hybrid project design, BESS sizing, active energy management, and revenue analysis.
